Translate Jingle BellZ: Bring Critical War Crimes Testimony to English Readers

Oleksii Anulia survived 10 months in russian captivity and wrote a 916-page testimony documenting what he experienced and witnessed. The book details systematic torture, murders, rapes, starvation, and the daily machinery of russia’s prison system as it operates right now against Ukrainian prisoners of war.

He wrote for 18 hours a day over three months, recreating the conditions of his captivity to ensure he captured every detail. The result is a historical eyewitness account that reveals what is currently happening to thousands of people still held in russian prisons.

Why This Matters: russia’s strategy relies on distance and abstraction. When most of us hear “prisoner of war,” we don’t understand what that means in the russian system. When diplomats discuss “negotiations” and “peace talks,” the thousands of people currently being tortured in russian prisons become bargaining chips rather than human beings with documented experiences.

Jingle BellZ removes that comfortable distance. It’s primary source documentation of what is happening today.

We’re raising funds to translate Jingle BellZ into English and distribute it to the people who need to read it.
