Portland Welcoming Week 2025
In the spirit of commitment to community building, Portland has begun their Welcoming Week 2025 event to embrace and unite people of all backgrounds.
DAWN Inc. was honored to participate in Welcoming Week 2025. Inna Kovtun, DAWN’s Director of Health Equity and Culture, and her two students from Singing DAWN, Karolina and Alisa, performed in the Welcoming Week opening ceremony, kicking off the series of events happening between Sept. 12 to 21, 2025.
What is Welcoming Week?
Welcoming Week is an annual, nationwide campaign that celebrates making our communities an inviting and inclusive place for all, including immigrants. This national celebration brings together neighbors of all backgrounds to connect, build ties, and share stories of courage, resilience, and hope. Portland is one of hundreds of cities participating in this initiative to build communities of belonging.
We are incredibly thankful to the city of Portland for inviting DAWN Inc. to take part in this important event. It was a privilege to share in this celebration and to participate in the opening ceremony. DAWN Inc. will continue to work hard to help make Portland a welcoming community for people of all backgrounds, whether they’re from Ukraine or anywhere else in the world.
