Inna Kovtun (master of music, folklorist, singer, director of the ensemble “Rozhanytsia” in Kyiv) and Nadia Tarnawsky (Fulbright researcher of Ukrainian folk songs) will lead a magical evening focusing on lyrical songs of an intimate nature. Intimate lyrical songs are songs which are about relationships, love and its loss. The evening will feature Ukrainian folk songs performed in a traditional style by Inna and Nadia, as well as an opportunity to learn some unique songs which were recorded in folkloric and ethnographic expeditions in the Central and Eastern regions of Ukraine.
The workshop is open to singers of all ages, genders, backgrounds and experience levels. All songs will be taught in the oral tradition. The ability to read Ukrainian or musical notation is not required.
From $25 – Tickets may be purchased at the door or online at: https://songsfromukraine.eventbrite.com
